For Laetare Sunday, Bishop Burbidge of the Diocese of Arlington sat in choir for the 9:15 AM Traditional Latin Mass at St. Rita in Alexandria, VA, next door to Washington, D.C. As reflected in the pictures above and below, he was eager to learn, generous with his time, and gave wonderful homily. He met with TLM parishioners for over an hour after Mass.
St. Rita has one of the most beautiful parish TLMs in the entire country, filled each week with young people and young families. It now faces restrictions from Rome, which gave it a two-year indult in July 2022 that is set to expire sometime this year. Bishop Burbidge will seek permission for an extension. Please pray fervently for the future of this heavenly liturgy and wonderful Catholic community at St. Rita!
