TLM workshop for Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusan priests in Vitebsk, Belarus

From Mr. Oleg Michael Martynov of Una Voce Russia comes the following news:

The region’s first official workshop for priests who want to obtain or improve their knowledge of how to say Holy Mass in the extraordinary form (usus antiquor, or the so-called Tridentine Mass) will be held in Vitebsk, Belarus on July 13 to 17, 2010. The workshop, taught by Fr. Ivo Ounpuu of the Apostolic Administration of Estonia, will be a joint effort of Una Voce Albaruthenia (Belarus), Una Voce Russia and the parish of St. Barbara Cathedral in Vitebsk.

The parish, served by the Dominican Fathers, features Holy Masses in the extraordinary form (Roman Rite) three times a week, being the first such place in Belarus. Participation will be free of charge for the priests, including accommodation and meals. Every priest in good standing, Latin or Eastern biritualist, is welcome (the main focus is on priests who serve in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine). The workshop will be taught in Polish with simultaneous translation into Russian.

The Bishop of Vitebsk, Mgr. Wladislaw Blin, has granted his blessing to the event, and Mgr. Athanasius Schneider, O.R.C., the Auxiliary Bishop of Karaganda (Kazakhstan), will celebrate a Pontifical Mass during the workshop.
