It is simply amazing that the debates of 1969, when the "shocking" new things said by bishops and priests were "hip", keep coming back.
Now, it is the time for the Bishop of Osnabrück and head of the "Pastoral Commission" of the German Episcopal Conference, is now in the news for declaring that there are
"...new arguments for a diaconate for women. A recent canon law amendment [the motu proprio Omnium in Mentem, published last December] states the independence of the diaconate from the priesthood, said the Chairman of the Pastoral Commission of the German Bishops' Conference."
