DVD of the Historic Solemn High Pontifical Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Now Available

I have had the honor of promoting some incredible events in my day, all of them in the relm of politics, revolving around either elections, disasters (both man and God made) or major legislative accomplishments in the United States. But I have had no higher honor than my humble volunteer work on behalf of the Pontifical Solemn High Mass last spring at the National Shrine.

The Paulus Institute today is proud to announce the long-awaited sale of the DVD immortalizing that first Solemn High Pontifical Mass at the High Altar of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. -- the first such Mass in nearly half a century.

This historic Mass took place on April 24, 2010, in front of approximately 4,000 Faithful souls. Celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Edward J. Slattery of the Diocese of Tulsa, and broadcast worldwide by EWTN, the Mass commemorated the fifth anniversary of the reign of Pope Benedict XVI.

This magnificent DVD has minute-by-minute commentary and highlights: the cappa magna procession; the vesting of the bishop; the procession of over 100 clergy into the sanctuary; the sacred bearing of ministers and servers throughout the ceremony oriented toward liturgical east; and the angelic sacred music of the choirs and schola.
People may buy it for their personal use, give multiple copies away as gifts (especially with Christmas right around the corner), or buy in bulk to sell at their local parish or use as great fundraising tools. This DVD is also an excellent way to evangelize for the Church’s sacred liturgy and tradition.
