Rorate Caeli
Of Masses, cherry blossoms and souls ...

We know that many of our readers planned to be in Washington, D.C. this weekend for the second annual Pontifical High Mass at the National Basilica -- until His Eminence Donald Cardinal Wuerl canceled the Mass in honor of the Holy Father (we are still waiting for a response as to why it was canceled from the Archdiocese).

We also know that many of you, who reserved not-inexpensive hotel rooms, are still planning to come to our Nation's Capital this weekend. Two reminders: one, there will be Cherry Blossom Festival activities for you to attend, as long as the government doesn't shut down; and, two, there are two Traditional Latin Masses at Old St. Mary's in D.C. this Sunday, a Low Mass at 9 a.m. and a Solemn High Mass without organ at 5 p.m. While you're there, please check out the newly restored Marian Altar, a fine piece of work led by pastor Fr. Alfred Harris.

Last, especially during Lent, please get all of your names in for the Rorate Caeli Purgatorial Society today for tomorrow's posting. Please email me at cpaulitz@yahoo.com and submit as follows: "name, state, country." If you want to enroll entire families, simply write in the email: "The Jones family, Ohio, USA". Individual names are preferred. Be greedy -- send in as many as you wish and forward this posting to friends as well. PLEASE follow this format strictly.

And please remember to follow @RorateCaeli on Twitter.
