Rorate Caeli

More resplendent than light

Every holy and spiritual soul who examines the mysterious secrets of Heaven
and who looks intently at the hierarchy of the heavenly Spirits
discovers, before all the others and immediately after the Redeemer,
the Blessed among women, the full of grace,
She Who generated God without losing the honour of Her virginity.

Thus, this most Blessed Virgin,
more resplendent than light,
more pleasing than any sweetness,
more illustrious than any sovereign,
illuminates the whole world, and,
renewing all things with the excellent perfume that She emanates,
surpasses the multitude of the Cherubim and Seraphim,
both in power and in might.
