Moraglia heading to Venice?

Who will head the Patriarchate following the unprecedented move of Cardinal Scola from Venice to Milan? All signs seem to indicate that the Bishop of La Spezia, Francesco Moraglia, might well be one chosen by the Pope to fill the place once held by Sarto, Roncalli, Luciani - and Scola...

Bp. Francesco Moraglia, a Genoan, was ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Siri in 1977.

Is this a good thing? Is he one of the "Siri Boys"?

As with LondonFrater, what's the deal with Moraglia, and who's cheering the loudest, the Trads or the Libs?

Moraglia, apparently an expert of liturgical master and one of the priest ordained by Cardinal Siri will surely be the best candidate to head into Venice - he brought the concept of "reform of the reform" into his diocese in a proper way even he wears a pontifical gloves when he celebrates the Novos Ordo.

My another thought is Bishop Mario Oliveri, also one of the "Siri Boys" and devoted on TLM would be also a good candidate for the see of Venice.

According to Tornielli, Moraglia will be appointed tomorrow (Jan 31st) . Deo Gratias!

Moraglia is excellent. This lines him up to be Pope. Give him ten years in Venice, and Benedict ten years more in Rome, and Bob's your uncle, sicut dicimus.
