The priest informed of this plenary indulgence this morning and so we all sang it before mass began, praise be to God!

Is it sufficient to recite it alone or must it be recited/chanted in a group?

Last night before the 5:00pm mass, at which I serve as a co-pianist/organist/cantor, I announced that I was going to sing and play the Te Deum, the lack of which text in the pews indicating yet another reason why we need new hymnals, and invited the congregation to join me in prayer as I did so on their behalf. This morning, I also did the same with the Veni Creator Spiritus, although this time they were able to sing along as the Gather Comprehensive hymnal unaccountably contained it! So thank you for the reminders, thank you for your year of service to the Catholic community, and may 2012 be a year of blessing for you, for us, for Holy Mother Church, and for all. Laus Deo!
