Carusi, IBP, says, "Back off, Ecclesia Dei"

Father Stefano Carusi, of the Institute of the Good Shepherd (IBP), reports he was asked by someone in the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei to remove two articles from the theological blog Disputationes Theologicae.

Disputationes will not let itself be gagged

We have received, in the name of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, the command of removing these two articles: The "proper rite" and the "hermeneutic of continuity" are enough? [May 2, 2012] and Rome-Ecône Agreement: were we jesting? [Sep. 5, 2011], with threats.

We believe that all that was said to us must have been misurderstood, since we cannot accept it as being in clear opposition to Can. 212 (and 215). We announce it because it is a public matter: the Church is not a regime of Jacobin absolutism, and Disputationes prefers to lean on the evidentiary strength of arguments.

Peace and good will to all!

What kind of "threats"? Who in Ecclesia Dei? We have no idea: Fr. Carusi does not reveal them.
