The mass exodus of Christians from the Muslim world

A mass exodus of Christians is currently underway.  Millions of Christians are being displaced from one end of the Islamic world to the other.

We are reliving the true history of how the Islamic world, much of which prior to the Islamic conquests was almost entirely Christian, came into being.

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom recently said: “The flight of Christians out of the region is unprecedented and it’s increasing year by year.”  In our lifetime alone “Christians might disappear altogether from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt.”

Ongoing reports from the Islamic world certainly support this conclusion:  Iraq was the earliest indicator of the fate awaiting Christians once Islamic forces are liberated from the grip of dictators.

The powers that be are really just using the muslims to help wipe out the christians in the middle east. It's that simple. While they might be schismatic, they are our true separated brothers that desperately need our prayers. May we all be united one day again.

Why do you think our Lord allows Islam to Exist? Should the east not come back to Rome so that in Unity we can feel more deeply their pain and aid them?

Well, actually even the muslims are leaving their country and headed for western countries such as Germany, England, Australia, USA. This happens way before, thus have been going on longer, than the mass exodus of Christian (which only happens in the recent decades)

The Gospels make it abundantly clear - the wheat and darnel grow together no matter what until the harvest is ready. Our Blessed Lord warned us that there are those who scatter and those who gather. This is the world which has been made for us to live in and work with. He also admonished how we would be hated for belonging to him. Can we expect any other?

Having just returned a markedly disordered Egypt the hatred of the Coptic Christians mounts while western politicians ignore their plight. The EU MEPS and comissioners actually spend most of their time dreaming of destroying all personal freedoms and making everyone pay for their lucrative gravy train lifestyle of limousines, large expense accounts & institutional isolation from social reality. Is this not the same in USA with POTUS and his entourage? Minds obsessed with materialism & promoting a culture of death can hardly be expected to care about the Christianity & its cultural principles they are rapidly deconstructing at home.

They are most probably quite content to find their antipathetic neighbours in a state of chaos and are doing all they can to further it.

What is also sad. Is that these Christians from the Middle East, which are conservative and traditional, are settling in the secular West, which also persecutes Christians and makes them feel like second class citizens, if they don't accept the secular liberal and atheistic values and ideologies. Like same sex marriage, Richard Dawkins, etcc..

Although we all would prefer the charming martyr-fantasy that all Arab and Afghani Christians are "fleeing" from the Middle East to the West because of persecution, many of them, like their "fleeing" Muslim neighbors, are opportunistic, economic migrants. They're also about as religious as your every day Arab Muslim is as well (that is, not at all).

Allow me to add, though, that they are indeed very much "conservative", which is an erroneous Western word for them and the values they hold.

I know this is uncharitable. I just can't help myself. Many of these Coptic Christians joined the "Arab Spring" and helped overthrow Mubarak for a democratic Islamic government. What did they expect?

Dear mad trad indeed:

The Mubarak government was not very friendly to Copts either, and there is some proof that the bombing of Copts in Alexandria in 2011 was the work of Mubarak supporters. And yet, the Coptic Orthodox Patriarch at the time, Shenouda III, was distinctly unenthusiastic about the "Arab Spring" and tried to prevent his flock from joining the uprisings against Mubarak. The Coptic Catholics, in contrast, were more "pro-democracy" and pro-revolution. While Shenouda III was supportive of Mubarak, the Coptic Catholic Patriarch welcomed his fall.

Aid? Not as long as a significant portion of our own Catholic hierarchy continues to entertain illusions about Islam, and as long as criticism of Islam remains de facto anathema in "correct" Catholic circles.

Remember what the Vatican Secretariat of State did to a Syriac Catholic bishop who dared speak out against the Quran during the Synod of Bishops a few years ago:

We all want the return of the schismatics to the True Fold but this does not mean having any illusions about the attitude towards Islam of our own Catholic hierarchy.

The alleged "Arab Spring" is as much an illusion as the "Springtime of Vatican II". The result is chaos everywhere.
