Mr. Matthew Robert Birk:

Retired Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk passed on a team visit to the White House this week to make a political point, he said in a radio interview on Thursday.

“I wasn't there," Birk, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, told 100.3 FM KFAN in Minneapolis.. "I would say this, I would say that I have great respect for the office of the presidency but about five or six weeks ago, our president made a comment in a speech and he said, 'God bless Planned Parenthood.'"

"Planned Parenthood performs about 330,000 abortions a year," Birk said. "I am Catholic, I am active in the pro-life movement and I just felt like I couldn't deal with that. I couldn't endorse that in any way." [Politico]

God bless, all men should emulate, such fearless souls as Matt Birk!
On the other side of the coin, I wonder how many guffaws are heard at the Cardinal's residence these days now that his private heart to heart talks with Governor Mario Cuomo have so converted that pro-abortion politician that he now has tabled a new proposal permitting unrestricted abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy.

what was it shakespeare said? one may smile and smile and be a villain?

"God bless Planned Parenthood" is among the most sacrilegious, evil statements I've ever heard. I really felt that he was invoking Satan himself when he said that.

Way to go Matt, standing up for what we believe in and not bowing to satan and his minions. Its been disheartening to see so many dominoes falling down one by one to human respect as of late. In JMJ Lee

God bless Matt Birk -- and NOT Planned Parenthood.

Surgical infanticide isn't "performed." It's committed, inflicted, perpetrated.

Speaking of Catholics who are living and teaching as they should, publicly defending the faith, and faithfully fulfilling their duties according to their station in life...

I would appreciate it if you also gave some coverage to this story: http://wdtprs.com/blog/2013/06/bp-paprocki-in-a-hostile-crowd-tells-it-like-it-is/

A while ago you posted the advertisement for this event, and the comments were an open field for many readers to cast judgement on Bp. Paprocki's state as a true or false bishop/true or false Catholic, etc because of his attendance.

Both of these stories are edifying and encouraging!

All joking aside, though. I really wish Rorate would stop running that pic of Baracky and +Timmy. It makes me want to punch them both in the face every time. And then I have to go to confession. What a world.

Matt Birk for president!

"Matt Birk for president!"

Matt Birk for Cardinal!

NARCISSISTIC
FREAKS

Vile, vile,
Down the aisle
Narcissistic freaks they file,

Not the fools
Who feign their gaiety...
But tolerant white sepulchred laity.

...and Michael Voris for Pope! ;-)

As a (still) loyal Cleveland Browns fan, I still have Baltimore Ravens issues. Matt is a Raven I can back. We need this witness to help remind us of our duty as the Church Militant.

Thank you Rorate for reminding us of the acts of the Cardinal Dolan.

Matt Birk graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Economics. I think he should run for Congress!
