Rorate Caeli

Let us pray

For the Philippines, battered twice in less than four weeks by natural calamities with great loss of life.

The earthquake that hit the central Philippines on October 15 and Typhoon Haiyan on November 8-9 took thousands of lives altogether, and destroyed some of that country's most beautiful churches - legacy of its more than 300 years as Spain's Asian outpost.

Guiuan Church, 17th century. Destroyed on November 8.

Societas Ecclesia Dei Sancti Ioseph, the affiliate of Una Voce in the Philippines, has informed Rorate that it is particularly requesting for Requiem Masses and the praying of the Officium Defunctorum and of rosaries for the souls of the faithful who died in these calamities.
