Event - Feb. 9: 1st Traditional Mass in MIT since the advent of the Novus Ordo

A local reader asks us to announce the following event:

On Sunday, February 9, there will be a Traditional Latin Mass celebrated in the chapel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the first of its kind there in decades. This ancient form of the Mass, often noted for a deep sense of reverence and adoration, is a true treasure of the faith for any Catholic to discover!

Mass will start at 2:45 PM. A Latin-to-English worship aid will be provided, and the celebrant, Fr. John Cassani, a Boston priest ordained last spring, will give a short explanation beforehand on how best to follow along with the Mass. This is a Solemn High Mass (the highest level of ceremony), the music will be Gregorian chant, and the homily will be given by MIT alumnus Fr. Kwang Lee. Afterwards, young adults and clergy will gather to celebrate this momentous occasion.

If you have any questions about the Mass, e-mail juventutemboston@gmail.com. The Facebook event can be found here.
