From the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Nareg (in the United States and Canada):
* As you are aware, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, a massive explosion destroyed most of the vicinity of the Port of Beirut, Lebanon. The explosion which impacted over a 10 mile radius, took the lives of more than 200 people, leaving more than 4,000 wounded and injured, while the whereabouts of many individuals are unknown as authorities continue their search. Countless families are now homeless and have lost everything.
* Churches, Rectories, and Cultural Centers were heavily damaged, tremendously impacting the people of the entire nation.
Lebanon was already suffering from a political and economic crisis, in which the local currency had lost 80% of its value over the last 6 months, alongside managing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic. In the midst of this insecurity, the explosion occurred, further affecting the lives of the citizens of a once globally renown country.
* Our brothers and sisters in Lebanon are in need of our support right now more than ever. Even the smallest act of charity that we can provide is of great value to them.
* Please consider making a donation today by sending a check payable to “Armenian Catholic Eparchy” to 1510 E. Mountain St., Glendale, CA 91207 with the note “For Lebanon”; or make a donation by click the Red Donate Button AT THIS LINK including “For Lebanon” in the Note.
May God bless you!
