Rome, September 19, 2014 (Apic) - Pope Francis received in Audience on September 18 Abp. Guido Pozzo, Secretary of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei", in charge of relations between Rome and the traditionalist milieu. The Superior of the Society of Saint Pius X, Bernard Fellay, a Valais native, should meet in the near future for the first time Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) [and President of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei"], whereas the dialogue between Rome and the Lefebvrists seemed to be at a standstill for several months.Bp. Fellay had come to the Vatican in December 2013 in order to meet Abp. Pozzo [Note: he also met Pope Francis at the time]. He confirmed to Apic in early September that he would meet Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller in the second half of September 2014. He specified that it would be an informal meeting, with the intent to take stock of the relations between the Fraternity and Rome, interruted since the departure of Cardinal William Joseph Levada, Cardinal Müller's precedessor, and since the resignation of Benedict XVI.
Yesterday's papal audience with Abp. Pozzo, a couple of days before the expected date of the Müller-Fellay meeting (it would be a great surprise if Pozzo were not also present at the meeting), was published today in the Bollettino.
