We were asked to bring this opportunity to our readers:
On Saturday, April 30th, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse will
be hosting a Sancta Missa Latin Mass Workshop for anyone who would like to
learn about the basics and theology of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (also
known as the Traditional Latin Mass or the Classical Roman Rite).
This
workshop is presented by the
Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius from Chicago, whose charism is the
"Restoration of the Sacred." Ever since Pope Benedict XVI
issued Summorum
Pontificum in
2007, the Canons have been hard at work educating priests on how to offer the
Extraordinary Form of the Mass and the lay faithful on how they can better
appreciate the celebration of the Latin Mass and pray the Mass with greater
fervor and devotion.
The workshop will begin at 9:15 am in the Shrine
Church Crypt followed by an 10:30 am sung Latin Mass with incense in the Shrine
Church celebrated by the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius.
There
is no cost for attending the workshop but a free-will offering would be greatly
appreciated.
