Searching in the books - II

Wow, some people are really reluctant to admit their mistakes. After becoming the new "expert" on Eastern Catholic matters last week (oops, I don't think so!), this "papal" blogger wants to make a point regarding the "formulation" of the appointments of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic bishops in the United States.

Guess what? They are exactly the same as they were before, as we had indicated with the Brazilian nomination (see here) because, contrary to the beliefs of certain people, even the Pope is subject to his own Codes (the Code of Canon Law-CIC and the Code of Canons of the Oriental Churches-CCEO) in the matters covered by them -- he may want to change a specific practice (for instance, the nomination or removal of bishops), but he cannot do that in casu speciali, but only after altering the respective canon (he is a monarch, not a dictator).

This blog is glad, though, to have at least contributed to bring the CCEO to this previously uninformed debate (and, though not thanked, we say: "You are welcome").

P.S. The "papal" blogger obviously had to take a free stab at the "Lefebvrist" bishops, who have absolutely no relation whatsoever to the Ukrainian news; well, all this acrimony must mean something. We do not mind having this "papal" blogger as an opinion "barometer"; we know that bad news for him is good news for the Lord and for His Church.
