It was just a few weeks ago that my aunt went to her eternal reward and, realizing her own family most likely wouldn't be praying much for the repose of her soul, I decided, with the permission of my colleagues at Rorate Caeli, to start our new Purgatorial Society for her and for all our readers' loved ones who have passed in order to pray them to Heaven. And the response has been both surprising and heartening.
For those new to this site or this effort, every week I post the names of the newly enrolled, and ask our readers to pray for the repose of their souls along with the priests who are heroically saying regular Traditional Latin Masses for them and the Society. We are now, after just a few weeks, up to eight priests saying weekly and monthly TLMs. We have military chaplains, parish priests, priests of traditional fraternities and, now, even a prior saying regular Masses with the little time they have available.
A reminder on how to enroll souls: please email me at cpaulitz@yahoo.com and submit as follows: "name, state, country." If you want to enroll entire families, simply write in the email: "The Jones family." Individual names are preferred. Please, do not post those you want to enroll in the comment box.
Also, not to digress too much, but it was really the culmination of me burring my wife's and my grandparents, aunts and uncles, and the "Requiem Masses" that we attended that led to this Society as well.
If one wants to truly see the downfall of the Vatican II Springtime Church, and the complete meldown of the true Faith, one must look no further than the typical funeral Mass, where our loves ones are not only canonized during the "eulogies" but are robbed of any prayers they may have received as their families are told to go off and feel good knowing the deceased is already "looking down on us from Heaven." Having hope is one thing -- it's essential, in fact. But to ignorantly go about our lives as if no one needs are prayers, as if there is no Purgatory, is criminal.
So, please send me the names of the souls you wiant to enroll. Be greedy -- send as many as you wish. And please pray daily for the success of the Society, for the relief of the souls of the enrolled and for the holy priests who selflessly offer the true Mass for these intentions.
