Rorate Caeli

Corpus Christi

Today is the feast of Corpus Christi, a holy day of obligation in the universal church, although not obligatory in all countries (including the U.S.).

For those fortunate enough to attend the traditional Latin Mass today, the 24 verse "Lauda Sion" sequence, written by Saint Thomas Aquinas, is said/sung.  Saint Mary's in Washington, D.C. (one of eight parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington and Diocese of Arlington offering the TLM today; two of them High with processions tonight) has some interesting background on the sequence here.

If your parish will have Mass and a procession tonight (on the actual feast day), feel free to list the time and location in the comment box for the good of others who may wish to attend on this first class feast day.
