Summer events: conferences and Latin courses in Europe

On my side of the Atlantic, there are a number of events which may be of interest to those on both sides of it.

The Roman Forum Summer Symposium 30 June – 11 July 2014: now with Fr John Hunwicke
In the idyllic setting of a small town on Lake Garda in Italy, this is a truly unique event: 11 days of talks and social activities, with daily Traditional Sung Mass, with some of the leading intellectuals of the Traditional Catholic movement, including Dr John Rao, Christopher Ferrara, Mgr Ignacio Berrairo, and the President of the FIUV (and a long-time associate of the event), Mr James Bogle. For the first time, the roster of speakers will include Fr John Hunwicke of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, who blogs at Fr Hunwicke's Mutual Enrichment.

The programme has now been confirmed: see it here. The headline cost is €2,100. Enquiries by email to Dr John Rao: drjcrao@aol.com.

Novum Vivarium Latin Summer School: June 23th - August 16th, 2014, in Rome.
If you are serious about learning Latin, and have the time, spend 8 weeks doing this course in Rome itself. There is simply nothing like it in the world: a total immersion Latin course designed to give you fluency in reading Latin. They have developed a unique approach to teaching which has been extremely successful; check out their longer courses as well. The headline price is €4,980 and covers full participation in the eight-week course (from July 24th to August 17th ), including hosting, textbooks, and excursions. The cost of participation in only one of the two modules is €2,500.

These are all highly recommended. All the organisers are totally committed to the their mission of spreading knowledge of our Catholic heritage, and as a result all the prices are incredibly low: compare them with the cost of similar events, conferences and Latin Courses, to see for yourself. All of them would very much appreciate donations: follow the links to learn more about them.
