"I fear that there are no alternatives in this moment to a military action, the situation is now out of control, and there is a responsibility of the international community of not having done anything to prevent or stop all this."

"The Gates of Hell have opened, and all the devils have come out. Evil has been unleashed."

[As an answer to the question, "What do you ask of the international community?"] "First of all, I ask of them to stop the flow of arms and money that supports these terrorists. I don't know from where this help comes, but it must be stopped. Enough with weapons, enough with money!"

Auxiliary (Curial)Bishop, Chaldean Patriarchate

Who created, armed, and finances ISIS? Everyone knows that: the Bishop is just too shy to say it in this interview.

6. [Last update for the weekend: 8:00 p.m. GMT]

- Late last night, the Iraqi Parliament called the persecution of religious minorities in the north of the country a "crime against humanity", and the U.S. Secretary of State used the word "genocide" which, of course, we had been using all along:

ISIL’s campaign of terror against the innocent, including Yezedi and Christian minorities, and its grotesque and targeted acts of violence bear all the warning signs and hallmarks of genocide.

This is extremely important, of course, due to its unmistakable legal consequences.

- AP confirms around 100 under-35 Yazidi women are being held (enslaved, as cattle, of course) in Mosul schools to satisfy the "vicious plans" of ISIS fighters. Unfortunately, it is unclear if young Christian women are among these, of if they all managed to flee safely after the ultimatum of July 18-19.

- "The United States carried out three air strike against ISIS militants in Iraq today, targeting artillery, mortars and a convoy." (ABCNews)

- "Officials said it was too soon to tell if the current campaign would last weeks or days, but said they expect more strikes by U.S. fighter jets, as early as this weekend." (WSJ)
