The parish of St. Thomas Aquinas in Charlotte, North
Carolina offered a Rorate Mass yesterday, December 6th. Over 125
faithful braved the cold December rain to attend the dawn Solemn High Mass by
candlelight. The Mass was offered by Father Matthew Kauth, a priest in
residence at the parish, and was assisted by Father Noah Carter, parochial
vicar of Sacred Heart parish in Salisbury, North Carolina who served as Deacon
and also Father Jason Christian, parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas served
as Subdeacon. The traditional
Mass was first offered at the parish on first Saturday in September of this
year, and now in addition to first Saturdays, offers a High Mass each Wednesday
evening. Another Charlotte parish, St. Ann in Charlotte will offer a Rorate
Mass on December 20th at 6:30 am.
