This past Corpus Christi Thursday about 300 faithful celebrated a Solemn High Mass at St. Pius X Parish in Fairfield, CT, which was founded in 1955.

There had not been a Traditional Latin Mass there since the 1960's.  Back in March we had been discussing the possibility of having a Mass at the parish since Fr. Tim Iannocone, the assistant at the parish, is very attached to the TLM.  He is a product of St. Mary's Norwalk and was ordained in 2017.  Fr. Tim Iannacone was the celebrant, Fr. Michael Novajosky (new pastor to be of St. Augustine Cathedral in Bridgeport, CT) was the deacon, and Fr. Donald Kloster (assistant at St. Mary's Norwalk, CT) was the subdeacon.

With the gracious permission of the pastor, Fr. Sam Kachuba, who agreed to preach at the Mass, we decided on Corpus Christi Thursday.  The Mass lasted two hours and began at 19:00.  It is significant that 300 people showed up because there had been a big accident on I-95 and had clogged both directions.  We had about 18 boys and young men serving as well as 2 MCs and there were 5 clergy in choir dress.  The mixed choir was under the direction of Miss Monica Haffey who is a disciple of our own Choir Master at St. Mary's Norwalk, CT Mr. David Hughes.  The Choir Master of the Basilica of St. John's in Stamford, CT Mr. David Indyk, was the organist.
