PRAYER FOR THE CONSECRATION OF THE CHURCH AND THE HUMAN RACE TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
SATURDAY,OCTOBER 31, 1942
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, Help of Christians, Refuge of the human race,
Victress in all the battles for God! Supplicant, we prostrate before Thy throne,
beseeching mercy and certain of receiving graces, opportune aid and defense in
the present calamities; not by any merit of our own, which we do not presume,
but solely because of the immense goodness of Thy Maternal Heart.
To Thee, to Thy Immaculate Heart, in this tragic hour of human history, we
entrust and consecrate ourselves - not only in union with the Holy Church, Mystical
Body of Thy Jesus, which is suffering and bleeding in many parts and in many
ways afflicted - but with the entire world harrowed by ferocious discords,
parched in a fire of hatred, victim of its own iniquity.
May your heart be moved by so much material
and moral ruin; so much pain; of so many
fathers, mothers, spouses, siblings and innocent children in anguish; so many
young lives cut short; so many bodies
lacerated in the horrendous slaughter; so many tortured souls in agony that
many risk being lost for all eternity.
Thou, Oh Mother of Mercy, obtain for us the peace of God! And most of all
those graces that can in an instant, convert human hearts; those graces that
prepare, reconcile and bring peace! Queen of Peace, pray for us and grant this
world at war, the peace the people are yearning for; peace in truth, in justice
and in the love of Christ. Grant them peace of arms and peace of souls, whereby
in the tranquility of order, the Kingdom of God is expanded.
Grant Thy protection to the infidels and to those still lying in the shadow
of death; concede them peace and make the Sun of Truth rise for them, that they
may, together with us, before the one and only Savior of the world, repeat: “Glory to God in the highest and peace on
earth to men of good will!” (Luke, 2, 14).
To the peoples separated by error and discord, and in particular those who profess singular devotion
to Thee, where there is no home that that doesn’t hold in honor Thy venerated
icon (perhaps today hidden and kept for better days); grant them peace and lead
them back to the One Fold of Christ, under the one true Shepherd.
Obtain peace and complete freedom for the Holy Church of God; stop the
expanding deluge of neo-paganism; foster in the hearts of the faithful love of
purity, the practice of Christian life and apostolic zeal, whereby the peoples
of those who serve God increase in merit and number.
Lastly, given that the Church and the entire human race were consecrated to
the Heart of Thy Jesus, placing all hope in Him, that He would be a sign and pledge
of victory and salvation, thus likewise, we for evermore consecrate ourselves
also to Thee, to Thy Immaculate Heart, Our Mother and Queen of the world: whereby
Thy love and patronage hasten the triumph of the Kingdom of God, to all
peoples, at peace with God and among themselves; We proclaim Thee blessed and with Thee we
intone, to the ends of the earth, the eternal Magnificat of glory, love and gratitude to the Heart of Jesus, wherein
alone, Truth, Life and Peace can be found.
