The General House Announces the Names of Future Bishops

Communiqué from the General House
On this octave of Pentecost, Fr. Davide Pagliarani, Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX), has the joy of announcing the names of the priests of the Society who have been chosen to receive episcopal consecration on July 1st at Écône.
In a spirit of respect toward the supreme authority of the universal Church, the dossiers of these priests have been presented to the Holy Father, accompanied by explanations required for a proper understanding of this initiative in the very specific and exceptional context of these episcopal consecrations.
The four priests are:
Fr. Pascal Schreiber, of Swiss nationality;
Fr. Michael Goldade, of American nationality;
Fr. Michel Poinsinet de Sivry, of French nationality;
Fr. Marc Hanappier, of French nationality.
The Superior General reaffirms that the choice and consecration of these men do not stem from any desire to claim a power of jurisdiction or to establish a parallel authority in the Church. In no way do they constitute a negation, a refusal, or a challenge launched against the supreme, plenary, and immediate power of jurisdiction of the Vicar of Christ over the universal Church.
The ceremony on July 1st will have no other purpose than to maintain the administration of the sacraments of Holy Orders and Confirmation, as well as the sacramentals reserved to bishops, according to the traditional rite of the Holy Roman Church and the faith of all time.
The episcopacy that these priests will receive is therefore viewed only as a service rendered to souls and to the Church, in the midst of this unprecedented crisis of faith.
Our will to serve the Holy Catholic Church remains unshakable, with the consciousness of the imperative duty to faithfully and entirely transmit what we have received—that is to say, what the Church has always believed, taught, and practiced.
