No, this is the Year of Our Lord 2026, and this is still going on in the New Mass of Paul VI -- the liturgy that Francis called, "the sole expression of the lex orandi of the Roman Rite." (Traditionis custodes).
In Mexico, an Ecuadorian artist and lawyer, Wilfrido Haro Rivas, who also happens to be a Jesuit ordained presbyter, is celebrating this expression in what can only be described as a very unoriginal setting. This celebration took place during Ignatian "spiritual exercises" in the Desierto de los Leones National Park, in Mexico City.
Desierto de los Leones means Desert of the Lions -- and, speaking of lions, this liturgical desert has been tried and found wanting (cf. Daniel 5). But we guess the Church is still trying and trying until all of Latin America becomes either Pentecostal or Atheist...
