Communiqué published today:
Further to the communiqué issued by the General House on 13 July 2026, announcing the submission of a preliminary request to the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X wishes to make known that it has since pursued the avenues of recourse provided for by canon law, in accordance with the deadlines and procedures established by law.
Through these steps, the bishops of the Society seek to exercise the right recognised to them by the Church, requesting an examination of the juridical and doctrinal objections they have raised against the texts of 2 July.
Pending further action by the competent authorities, the Society intends to observe the discretion required by the nature of these proceedings. It invites priests and faithful to remain united in prayer for the Holy Father and the whole Church, whose supreme law is the salvation of souls.
