Update: Saint Francis Xavier Mission Trip of the FSSP

We have been asked to spread the word on the FSSP's upcoming mission trip to Lima, Peru, dating back to our first posts last autumn (see here).

We are now pleased to report that the Fraternity has confirmed they will have a Solemn High Mass at the church of San Marcelo on August 12th at 7:30p.m.

Anybody know if that photo is of the Iglesia de La Merced?

It's San Mercelo, as noted.

Thnx Adfero. I saw that notice just after I sent my query. Sorry for that. I was taken by the statue of the Virgin above the altar in the reredos. Beautiful esp. in the larger picture.

It is beautiful. Yet, in America, the land of the rich, we can only afford to build churches that look like stables!

Adfero, I think the stable or garage looming churches has more to do with the American Church being too protestantized or modernist and not money. It's sad. Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi.

Jose, you are right. I was being facetious.
