Quick Note: Pope begins Curial restructuring

As it had been rumored for months and as it was mentioned yesterday here, based on a report by the Italian daily Il Tempo, the pope merged today (per ora, for the time being) the presidencies of the Pontifical Council for Migrants (having accepted the resignation of Cardinal Hamao) and of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, under the joint chairmanship of Cardinal Martino; and the presidencies (per ora, for the time being) of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (whose former chairman, Archbishop Fitzgerald, was promoted to the nunciature in Cairo last month) and the Pontifical Council for Culture, under the joint chairmanship of Cardinal Poupard.
