The German district of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X said in a press release dated April 30, that they have filed a complaint against Professor Eberhard Schockenhoff of the Faculty of Theology at Albert-Ludwigs University in Friburg-en-Brisgau. In an April 19 broadcast aired on SWR TV, the professor had described the Fraternity as "shallow right-wing extremist" seeing there "an ideological blend of fascism and positions once supported by the National Socialists”. The district of Germany holds that these words should be criminally prosecuted because they defame an entire group of traditional Catholics and severely damage their reputation. Moreover, they indicated in the same statement that professor Schockenhoff is in danger of placing himself in opposition to the Catholic Church by claiming in the daily Frankfurter Rundschau on April 26 that a homosexual union is "ethically valuable”. For these words in the newspaper alone, "the canonical mission (teaching in a Catholic school) should be withdrawn by the Church from Eberhard Schockenhoff because they are inconsistent with its doctrine" says the Society of Saint Pius X in Germany.
