Rorate Caeli

You report: A priest of the Institute of Christ the King visits the Philippines

Mass in the Baptistry of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of the Diocese of Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. Feb. 6, 2012

The blog Veritatem facientes in caritate has a comprehensive report (many photographs and the full videos of three TLMs) of last month's visit by Canon Jean Marie Moreau to some of the Traditional Catholic communities of the Philippines: Canon Moreau's first visit to the Philippines: February 6-12, 2012. The climax of the visit was a Solemn Mass in the Holy Family Parish in the Diocese of Cubao

The Traditional Latin Mass has a small but gradually growing presence in the Philippines, with regularly-scheduled every-Sunday TLMs in 14 locations in 11 of its 86 dioceses (not counting those of the SSPX). Before Summorum Pontificum, there were only 3-4 such locations in 3 dioceses.

I dont discuss their visit to Philippine, but is it fair to visit a country with already Traditionalist presence, when I or others like me that are expecting it, live in a spiritual desert, without a single trace of TLM? I have contacted FSSP and they say they dont have so many priests to go where there are few interested, SSPX cannot come since they already were here and were driven forcefully by the Novus Ordo priests. Prayer and penances is needed but also objective fair decisions to do something.

I dont discuss the decision to visit Philippine, but is fair to visit a country with traditionalist presence, and not responding to requests as mine, and not visiting a country like Albania, with not even a trace of TLM? I have contacted FSSP, and they dont have enough priests, while SSPX sat they cannot come, and they were here some years a go but were driven out by the NO priests.

Dear Albanian friend,

We are very glad to have an Albanian Catholic here. Next time, please choose a name, any name - and if you wish to contact us, just e-mail me at newcatholic AT gmail DOT com.
