The Apostolic Letter given motu proprio Summorum Pontificum turns 7 this July - yes, it is hard to believe that it has been that long.
Seven was obviously a special number in the mind of Benedict XVI as he decided to sign and publish the letter, as the date chosen by him was precisely the seventh day of the seventh month of the year 2007.
We know many of you appreciate our work, done without any other reward than pursuing the greater glory of God. We need positive and uplifting news now more than ever, what better time than this one? Haec est dies quam fecit Dominus: exultemus et laetemur in ea (Ps. cxvii/cxviii, 24: "This is the day which the Lord hath made: let us be glad and rejoice therein.")
So now we ask you for a favor: we would like to post during this summer (winter for our many readers in the Southern Hemisphere) a Master-Post. Its theme is as simple as an elementary school essay:
"Summorum Pontificum changed my Life."
That is it: in just a few lines (or as many as you wish), describe how Summorum Pontificum changed your Catholic life - in small ways, in a fundamental and radical fashion, or even a slight spiritual improvement. What matters is to gather as many testimonies as possible from as many places as possible. Remember: these positive testimonies are very important.
We, Catholics attached to the Traditional Mass, are a minority in the Church and are spread thin around the world -- we need to be reminded that our global absolute numbers are not that small, that we are a truly universal community, that we will never go away as long as there is an earth. We need the encouragement of our fellow brothers and sisters, whose words show that our struggles for the traditional uses, practices, and teachings of the Catholic Church help us lead better lives, for the benefit of the whole Church and for our ultimate salvation.

We want contributions from all: priests and seminarians, religious, lay people; from any age group. You do not have to identify yourself by name if you do not wish to - a pen name is enough, but we beg you to include a geographic identifier (city or at least state, province or region, as well as country).
If English is not your native language and you are unsure of your text, worry not: send your note anyway, and we will correct your text and edit it to a more natural style when needed. You may also send it in any major Western European language, and we will do our best to have it translated and included. If possible, include images, videos, book excerpts that help to convey your sentiment. Please, be sure to include in the message subject: "SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM MASTER-POST" - contributions may be sent to any contributor, but the main address is newcatholic AT gmail DOT com.
Thank you.
