Hungarian Bishops' Conference Rejects Main Point of "Fiducia Supplicans"

Here is a perfect example of a "soft rejection" of FS. The part in bold is precisely rejecting the entire point of FS. - PAK

We celebrated at Christmas the joy that God is with us and in our midst, and has invited everyone with merciful love to communion with Him. In this spirit we, members of the Hungarian Bishops' Conference, address the ordained ministers and members of our local church with the following message.

The statement of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith Fiducia supplicans, issued on December 18, 2023 on the pastoral meaning of blessings, does not change the Catholic Church's perennial conviction and teaching on marriage and sexual morality. Considering the pastoral situation in our country, the Bishops' Conference specifies that ordained ministers may bless all persons individually, regardless of their gender identity and sexual orientation, but it is always necessary to avoid the imparting of a communal blessing for de facto couples, as well as for those living in a canonically invalid marriage or same-sex union.

At the same time, we accompany with closeness and respect our brothers and sisters living in special situations, helping them to gain a deeper understanding of God's will in their journey toward the Gospel of Christ.
