Church Suffering and the Sabbatine Privilege

As we focus on relieving the Church Suffering from their pain in Purgatory, let us not forget about our own potential suffering and the potential suffering of our children, and the easiest way to lesson that time: The Brown Scapular and the Sabbatine Privilege.

From Charity for the Suffering Souls (Rev. Nageleisen, 1895 A.D.): "...Mary gives those who wear the holy scapular and fulfill the conditions prescribed, as much assurance of their eternal salvation as can be obtained during mortal life ... 

"The Blessed Virgin, appearing to the Venerable Dominic of Jesus-Mary, addressed him thus: 'My son, though many wear my scapular, yet there are few that perform what is necessary to acquire the Sabbatine Privilege.' It was affirmed also by other supernatural revelations, that they who wear the scapular are released from Purgatory on the first Saturday after their death only on condition that they have fulfilled all the duties imposed thereby."

So, buy your Brown Scapular. Then have a Catholic priest officially enroll you in the Confraternity. And understand that the requirement is the daily recitation of the Little Office. However, every priest has the right to lessen that requirement, and most will allow a daily Rosary instead. You can learn more here. 

Last, our two key takeaways are: One, if you simply wear the Brown Scapular but are not enrolled and do not perform your daily duties, you are saved from eternal damnation, but you won't receive the Sabbatine Privilege. We're talking about spending possibly years, centuries or until the end of the world suffering in Purgatory, versus no longer than seven days.So get enrolled!

Little Actions, Big Help for Poor Souls

While we give you specific prayers to say for the souls and the priests who are praying for them, there's other ways you can help the souls as well. For example, I would hope that most traditional Catholics have been properly enrolled in the Brown Scapular.

With that enrollment and adherence to the daily Little Office or Rosary, comes the Sabbatine Privilege. Remember that merely wearing the Scapular grants partial indulgences, that can be applied to the souls.
