Socci: "A Buzz in the Vatican: A Conclave is in the Air"

A BUZZ IN THE VATICAN: A CONCLAVE IS IN THE AIR. HOW AND WHY POPE BERGOGLIO COULD LEAVE

Antonio Socci
August 23, 2021

In the Vatican, there is an ever greater mention of a new Conclave. Pope Francis would in fact have expressed his intention to leave.

This December, among other things, he will turn 85, which is the same age as that of Benedict XVI at the time of his resignation. But the reason for Bergoglio's resignation would not primarily be his age, but the state of health that came under the spotlight in a sudden and unexpected way with his surgery, last July 4, at the Gemelli Hospital.

Socci: The Backstory: here is what went on behind the scenes. The rage of the despot against the Catholic Pope

Reliable sources inside the Vatican have pieced together what happened. The book “From the Depths of Our Hearts” is clearly by Benedict XVI and Cardinal Sarah (as indeed the letters between the two of them -  made public by Cardinal Sarah -  demonstrate unequivocally). Everything had been decided and agreed upon from the very start. The other day – when the part defending celibacy was published -  pandemonium broke out in the Vatican because Bergoglio was fuming with rage. In fact, that authoritative  pronouncement by Benedict, stops him from tearing apart ecclesiastic celibacy, as he had intended to do in the upcoming Post-Synod Exhortation. So, he personally summoned Monsignor Gaenswein, Benedict’s secretary, but also Prefect of Bergoglio’s Papal Household and, furious, ordered him to have Benedict XVI’s name removed from the cover of the book (being unable to demand the changing of the texts therein).
Bergoglio demanded a full and total disclaimer. For this reason the first filtered report spoke of sources “close to Benedict XVI” who said Benedict had not written the book with Cardinal Sarah, nor had he approved the cover (that is, his signature on the volume).
This however, was not true and Benedict XVI was unable to accept speaking falsely by implicitly accusing Cardinal Sarah of having involved him without his consent. Neither did Pope Benedict have any intention of taking back what he had written in defense of celibacy in the book. In fact Cardinal Sarah immediately made the letters exchanged between them public, which showed the book had been decided upon by both of them, and without doubt he made them public with Benedict’s permission. To re-establish the truth.
On the other hand, Benedict also found himself needing to protect his secretary from the South American’s “vengeance”, seeing as he had received a peremptory order from Bergoglio. So this solution of compromise was adopted: in  successive book editions the author will be Cardinal Sarah “with the contribution of Benedict XVI”.  The text of the book, nevertheless, remains the same.
With this messy compromise, the Bergoglian court can say to the mass-media that “Benedict XVI removed his signature from the book” (even if it’s not true) but in actual fact the book remains just as it is, with Sarah’s signature and Benedict’s name as author of the parts agreed upon.
A very ugly story of clerical bullying, which, in the end, aims at muzzling Benedict XVI.
The fundamental question remains however: If Bergoglio – in his Exhortation -  hits out at celibacy (with the ordination of “viri probati”), he places himself de facto in direct contrast with the  doctrine of the Church, reaffirmed in recent days by Pope Benedict XVI. Thus, he becomes  responsible for a very grave rift, fraught with consequences.

Contributor’s note
I heartily endorse every word of Antonio Socci’s review on Elisabetta Sala’s first novel “The Execution of Justice” published below and which I read this past summer – all 465 pages. It is truly a page-turner written by an exceptionally talented author. She is the only Italian scholar that I know, who has addressed “The Enigma of Shakespeare”. I will be sure to inform our readers at Rorate Caeli when the “The Execution of Justice” is published in English, as I have heard that it is a work in progress.   F.R.

It’s the finest, most exciting, most poignant novel I have read in a long time. A real surprise. It captures the reader’s attention from the very first page.

It is a historical novel, easy to read, set in the London of the year 1605, amid the alleys, taverns, palaces, shops and theatres on the banks of the Thames.

We become deeply immersed in the London of the early 17th century -  so much so - that you don’t want this story (also of love) to end, full as it is of intrigues, heroic martyrdoms, plots, cowardly betrayals, spies and power-struggles.

Historical events with consequences, for that matter, that were hugely dramatic for Europe and the entire world. It may be said that you cannot understand modern History, whether it be European or American (and even Italian), if you don’t know about this English historical period.

The title – to tell the truth – may appear somewhat off-putting: “The Execution of Justice” (D’Ettoris Editori). It would seem more suitable for a treatise on criminal procedure. But in reality, as you progress in the reading of the novel, you discover its “dramatic” origin.

The writer, Elisabetta Sala, professor of History and English Literature, reveals absolutely extraordinary narrative skills.

Socci: The Church is collapsing, but the Vatican has launched a crusade against Salvini

What is going on in the Catholic Church? The situation is not only catastrophic - it’s absurd.  We hear of churches emptying dramatically in the West and Christians being cruelly persecuted in the East. We hear of the disappearance of traditional Catholic movements, of internal clashes in the Curia, of continuous scandals, of immense confusion among the faithful as a result of Pope Francis’ revolutionary feats ( recently he even “forgot” about the dogma of the Immaculate Conception).
Yet the churchmen are not addressing any of this. They are not worried at all. The shepherds are not interested in the sheep going astray and being scattered.
The hierarchical class is completely taken up by politics. It’s a real fever. That in itself is already surreal, but  not sufficiently. The fact is, they don’t want to bring the “social doctrine” of the Church into politics nor the “non-negotiable principals”,  as one might like to believe they would.  Following the “Bergoglian teaching” they have only one theological-political theme to insist upon and in fundamentalist tones:  migrants.

Socci: Horror!

Questioned by journalists, the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Parolin (Bergoglio’s right-hand man) declared that presently there is no diplomatic activity involving the Holy See to bring Asia Bibi and her family to safety.  He said verbatim: “It’s an internal question that regards Pakistan, I hope it will be resolved in the best ways possible”.

An internal question that regards Pakistan? The cynicism of the Bergoglians towards persecuted Christians is horrifying!

Socci: From Siena to New York ( through Rome, London and Brussels ) the collapse of the Left - a historical shock

Amid the cheerful, colorful streets of Siena, in festivity for “Il Palio della Madonna di Provenzano”, and a week following the electoral tsunami, some of the city’s leftist big-wheels and intellectuals wander around like they are lost;  questioned by national newspapers, they admit they are  “in shock” and bewildered at the collapse of their ‘red sovereignty’ which had lasted for a period of 70 years.

Even in other major Tuscan cities the Democratic Party (PD) has become the acronym for “Loses Everywhere”. And it can’t even blame the elusive Russian Hacker for its defeat in Massa, Pisa and Siena (MPS) after having lost the other Tuscan towns.

The parish priest of Cisterna in Latina,  Don Livio Fabiani caused a bit of sensation with his words at the funeral of the two children killed by their father.
Yet perhaps – for Catholics – the homily of Cardinal Giuseppe Betori, Archbishop of Florence, at the funeral of the Fiorentina’s Captain, Davide Astori, who died two Sundays ago of a heart attack, ought to be a source of more amazement.
These two tragedies have made us face sudden death, the eruption of evil and the suffering of the innocents. We are all dumbstruck.  The words “waste and void” repeated by Thomas S. Eliot in his poem describe our hearts in these situations.

Socci: Luther and Melanchthon at the foot of the Cross

Antonio Socci:“The Vatican in a complete mess with its celebration of Luther the Heretic in the place of Our Lady.  Never-ending shame in the dark age of Bergoglio.”

November 1, 2017

“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalen. When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own”. (John 19,25-27).

This is one of the most fundamental moments in the Life of Jesus, the very apex of His redeeming mission. Mary is there and right next to Her is John. From that moment on Mary is the Mother of all those who are to come into the Church: Mater Ecclesiæ, as Paul VI called Her at the closure of the Second Vatican Council.

Don Barsotti: The soul that leans on God alone, experiences a peace that transcends all suffering

“We have to remember that man lives in a triple dimension: physical, psychological and spiritual. The dimension of a purely physical life makes us slaves to nature and all its demands:  cold, heat, illness, instincts and death. The psychological dimension makes us subject to the highs and lows of feelings and sensations. We are never entirely free. Nevertheless, if we live in the spiritual dimension, the soul transcends itself and reaches God. This is the life of pure faith, which leans on nothing other than God Himself. It is the life of infallible hope, which seeks no other support than in Him.  It is a life of boundless charity, which doesn’t capitulate when faced with evil. In this dimension, no trial can disturb the soul and take away its innermost peace. It may be a “black” peace as the mystics call it, given that on the physical and psychological levels the soul may experience abandonment and trials, but it doesn’t capitulate. It experiences a peace that transcends all suffering”.

Socci: Why Bergoglio has been so affectionate with Chinese despots and Castro, but ferocious with Trump

Here is what might happen

In his inaugural speech, Donald Trump made reference a number of times to God and the Bible (on which he was sworn in as President). Christian inspiration is emblematic of American popular tradition, and Trump – who usually touches on very concrete subjects in his speeches, such as the everyday lives of people – on this solemn occasion, chose to tune in with the deep religious sense of the American people.

This is a political sign of opposition to the strongly secular ideology of the “liberal” establishment, which in recent years has ruled, and which - in that speech - has been brutally evicted from the “palace” with the slogan: let’s give the power back to the people.

Last Thursday, the 13th of October,  marked the beginning of the 100-year anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, yet Bergoglio, instead of honouring Our Lady, honoured Martin Luther by taking part in an audience (in the Vatican) where a statue of the German heretic and schismatic was exposed as if he were one of the saints.

For that matter, Bergoglio is the Pope who, for the first time in two thousand years, has wanted the profanation of the Sacraments!

I don’t know if you have noticed, but there is no longer one single counter-current voice in the [Italian]mass-media which reports truthfully what is happening under the Bergoglian regime in the Church. We are under an oppressive Argentine dictatorship.

Those who disturb the Bergoglian Power would appear not to have any right to speak in the media. Even the most important Catholic intellectuals, who criticised Amoris laetitia severely (such as Spaemann, Grygiel and Seifert, close collaborators of John Paul II and Benedict XVI) have remained invisible in the [Italian] media. Their severe criticisms have been silenced. Even the explosive discourse of May 21st by Monsignor Gaenswein – Benedict XVI’s secretary and right-hand man –  is virtually unobtainable in the media. Just like the critical voices of some theologians, bishops and cardinals.

TOTAL CENSURESHIP.  SOMETHING NEVER SEEN BEFORE.  IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE HEAR  NO VOICE RAISED IN DENOUNCING THE DICTATORSHIP IMPOSED IN PRAISE AND GLORY OF THE “MERCIFUL” ARGENTINE?

It is earth-shattering for a pope to mix-up a two-faced devil with Jesus. It happened last Thursday when Bergoglio mistakenly referred to a column capital on Vézelay Cathedral: a “case of mistaken identity” emblematic of this pontificate, even if a somewhat superficial ghost-writer was probably to blame.

One is Simon, the other is Peter? - Gänswein: Papacy was changed in 2013 into an "expanded" Petrine Office with two members. - Does this confirm the Socci-Messori thesis of a papal diarchy?

Double-Headed Church?

Edward Pentin's latest column on National Catholic Register (Archbishop Gänswein: Benedict XVI Sees Resignation as Expanding Petrine Ministry) reports on a speech delivered by Archbishop Gänswein at the Pontifical Gregorian University, May 20. The speech, as reported by Pentin, has two topics of capital significance.

Will the post-synodal apostolic exhortation just signed by Pope Bergoglio - but not yet made public - represent a revolution for the Church? Will a “new church” be founded on the word of progressive Catholics like Pope Bergoglio and Walter Kasper instead of on the Good News of Christ?

Indeed, Cardinal Kasper, Joseph Ratzinger’s great opponent, has announced a genuine “revolution”.

Bergoglio used Kasper in February 2014 at the consistory to launch the sensational news of communion for the divorced and remarried. It’s not that Bergoglio cares about the divorced who want to receive communion but they have been used as a battering ram to shake Catholic doctrine on the sacraments.

Last Monday in a meeting in Lucca and on the eve of the Pope’s signature of the exhortation, Kasper couldn’t contain himself. “It will be the first step in a reform that will turn the page in Church history after 1700 years.”

The exhortation will be made public in the middle of April but Kasper – who knows the content – is already claiming victory. “The document will make its mark,” he said, “as the biggest revolution in the Church for 1500 years.”

The letter Pope Francis sent to Antonio Socci on February 7th warrants the same attention as the book Socci dedicated to “The Last Prophecy. An Open Letter to Pope Francis in Times of War (Rizzoli, 2016).

Socci’s book is divided into two parts: the first contains a set of prophecies, both recent and old, which point to grave catastrophes for the world should it refuse to convert and do penance. The material destructions predicted in many prophecies seem to be a result of the present spiritual devastation which the Church finds itself immersed in today. Among the many heavenly messages, there are those of the Virgin of La Salette and Don Bosco’s dream about the future of Rome which outline a scenario of tragedy and hope similar to the one Our Lady announced at Fatima in 1917. Other private revelations cited by Socci, could be considered questionable, but even so, the writer’s merit is nonetheless that of reminding us of the existence of the prophetic, apocalyptic dimension which is inseparable from historical Catholic theology.

A Clamorous (and Blessed!) Turnaround by Pope Francis on Marriage and against Same-Sex "Unions"?

A CLAMOUROUS (AND BLESSED) TURNAROUND?
Antonio Socci on Facebook

In Pope Francis’ intervention to the Roman Rota [today - in English here], there was a passage that was immediately re-launched by the media because of its topical impact.

“During the Synod on the Family, which the Lord granted us the past two years, we were able to carry out in a spirit of effective collegiality, in-depth and sapiential discernment, through which the Church – among other things – indicated to the world that there can be no confusion between the family willed by God and any other type of union.”

This was immediately connected to the debate in the Italian Parliament on “civil unions” and the upcoming “Family Day”.

Bergoglio, the Man who Never Kneels Before God

Antonio Socci
It ‘s now starting to get very depressing, even disquieting….

Bergoglio never kneels in front of the Eucharist during Mass. He doesn’t kneel or, at any rate, doesn’t  remain on his knees during Eucharist Adoration;  the image of him standing in front of the Blessed Sacrament at the end of the Corpus Domini procession (which he didn’t take part in) is unforgettable.

Now even the opening ceremony of  the Holy Door, for the beginning of the Jubilee – is embarrassing!  See for yourselves what happened today!

Antonio Socci: So Bergoglio even manipulates Don Camillo ...

Antonio Socci

So Bergoglio even manipulates Don Camillo (but he is a Catholic priest, not like Don Francesco-Chichi)

“You see, I cannot absolutely bear deception. I have many defects Lord, but not the one of cheating and lying to my neighbor.”
Don Camillo, Rare priest, still Catholic!
It’s not surprising that Bergoglio while he was in Florence, manipulated and exploited even Guareschi’s Don Camillo, since he does the same thing with the Gospel, making it say the opposite of what’s written (for example on Jesus, the Pharisees and moral themes).

Nonetheless it’s comical that Bergoglio, while instructing the Italian Church to stay out of politics (which means, instructing it to bend to the Powers and not disturb the manoeuvrer), he uses as an example Don Camillo, who did the exact opposite.

Papacy in Collapse: "The Crisis of the Bergoglio Party (which will leave the Church devastated) has begun" (Socci)

"FRANCIS, THE WRECKING BALL"
1. Just a couple of weeks ago, still before the end of the Synod, our special guest-writer and expert of Roman ways Don Pio Pace warned: "are we going towards the failure of the 'opening' pontificate of Francis? The Postconciliar Church seems intrinsically ungovernable."

2. This Thursday, Nov. 5, Damian Thompson in the cover article for the Spectator details what he calls "the Catholic civil war". But the guilty party is clear from Thompson's conclusion: "It’s beginning to look as if Jorge Bergoglio is the man who inherited the papacy and then broke it." (The Spectator cover illustrates the point well.)

3. Also this Thursday, Italian religious analyst Antonio Socci published a text that goes in the same direction as Thompson's: the collapse of the pontificate amidst the civil war begun by the Pope himself. And Socci goes further: he identifies the Bergoglio Party (the same that caused the resignation of Benedict XVI and the election of Cardinal Bergoglio) as the center of the current crisis. It is indeed very important to remember that it was the CURIA that caused the vexations that led to the complete weakening of Pope Ratzinger, and the Sodano Curia and (what we now know as the Mafia Club of) the St-Gallen Group, led by ultra-progressive Cardinals such as Danneels and the heirs of Martini, who congealed around Bergoglio in the momentous 2013 conclave.
